Meteorological department confirms earth slight earthquake hit parts of Kenya. The Meterological has confirmed an earth tremor hit some parts of Kenya on Sunday evening, but has caused no significant damage was present.
Meteorological services stated that the slight earthquake was also felt in Naivasha, Nakuru, Makueni, Mombasa, Kiambu and Nyeri , Nyeri at around 7.21 pm.
“Did you feel the slight earthquake?” was the question most Kenyans asked at around 7.30pm on social media.
The slight earthquake that lasted 7-10 seconds was reported in most parts of Kenya, including Meru, Embu and around the Coast region.
An M 6.3 earthquake in Indonesia is relevantly suspected to have caused the tremors in Kenya.
Scott Bellows who is the chairman of USIU-A incubation and innovation confirmed that the tremor was felt, and urged those in Mombasa, Kilifi, Malindi and Lamu to move to higher ground.
